2019 City Hall Art Gallery: Inspired to make art from my household trash, I wove for 30 hours using 21 non-recyclable materials, 3 colored sheep hair and horse hair to make this 12" by 12" Navajo Textile. The Mittens is an actual and iconic place where my grandmother lived in Monument Valley, AZ.
Grand prize winner.
Created for the Maricopa In Bloom juried art gallery, I wove for 2 weeks using 20 colors of sheep and goat hair for this 12" by 12" Navajo Textile.
Below the blue skyline of Estrella Mountains, the city of Maricopa harbors wonderful neighborhoods and beautiful landscapes. Idyllic landscapes of rock, clay, sand and desert flora like the prickly pear cactus. A natural creation of architecture and bloom, this wonderful cactus is a sight to behold with its pink blossoms.
